Kirby can have over 55 copy abilities. That doesn’t mean they are all useful. There are some meaningless skills. Some of them are even worth avoiding. We selected the best of the best abilities to appear on this list. We hope you like it and enjoy your game as much as we did collecting the list. Hammer The Hammer just rocks! You get an instant super-beating power attack to beat your enemies. That mighty power makes the Hammer one of the most desirable weapons. However, to obtain a Hammer is not easy, and they are rare throughout the games. While you activate the Hammer, you will also avoid most attacks, making you almost invincible. For boss fights, a Hammer will make it much easier to win t... »
Despite Nintendo’s general image as the family-friendly company, there are some terrifying, excellent horror games available for Nintendo’s consoles. Then there are some that didn’t quite work out… like Spirit Camera: The Cursed Memoir for the Nintendo 3DS. Spirit Camera: The Cursed Memoir The game is a spin-off of the Fatal Frame series, but unlike the oft-praised Fatal Frame games, Spirit Camera saw an abysmal reception. It was criticized for its length, lack of scares, and awkward gameplay. But despite having a campaign you can finish in around 3 hours and only a small amount of side content, its content isn’t really what doomed it. It was the camera. Spirit ... »
Pokémon Sun and Moon will be out in November, so let’s talk about some of the things you have to look forward to in the latest additions to the Pokémon series. An Exciting New Region Pokémon Sun and Moon are set in the Hawaii-inspired Alola region, and it’s a bit different than the regions we’re used to. Trainers in Alola undergo special trials that include more than just battling, under the guidance of the Trial Captains and with a powerful Totem Pokémon battle at the end. It’s unclear yet if these trials will replace Gyms or not. Alola is also threatened by the mysterious Ultra Beasts, strange creatures that aren’t Pokémon. A research organization called the A... »
“Every puzzle has an answer,” says a certain top-hatted gentleman, and the Professor Layton series gives you hundreds of puzzles to find the answers to. But the Professor Layton games have more to offer than just a mental challenge, since their puzzles come in the context of intriguing, often insane stories. So far, there are 6 games in the main series, along with a movie, a crossover, and a mobile spin-off. Let’s take a look at the best of Professor Layton. 3. Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney The 3DS crossover with Ace Attorney introduced a lot of new fans to Professor Layton, and it’s an accessible way to try it out. While it contains gamepla... »
We’ve talked about some of the best RPGs on the Nintendo Wii, but as with all systems, some great games fly under the radar. If you think the Wii doesn’t have a lot of standout RPGs, here are a couple people often overlook. Fragile Dreams: Farewell Ruins of the Moon Fragile Dreams is an unusual RPG. Co-developed by Namco Bandai and tri-Crescendo, it has many similarities with survival horror games, despite not being a horror game itself. It is set in a world where most of the population has vanished after a cataclysmic event. A teenage boy named Seto ventures into post-apocalyptic Tokyo to search for other survivors. As you explore abandoned locations using the Wiimote as your fl... »
The World Ends With You is an action RPG developed by Square Enix for the Nintendo DS. It came out in 2008 and seemed perfectly designed to receive a sequel… a sequel which fans are still waiting for. With a unique combat system designed to make use of the DS’s two screens, and a twisting, exciting story about a group of teenagers fighting for their lives in an alternate Shibuya, The World Ends With You received high praise. Its main plot is self-contained, but a series of Secret Reports expand the universe in unexpected ways. If you collect all of the Secret Reports, you unlock a special ending that also suggests a sequel is possible. In particular, the Secret Reports add angels... »
The Nintendo Wii was home to some excellent RPGs, and all of them are playable on your Wii U. Let’s take a look at three of the greatest RPGs the Wii has to offer. 3. Super Paper Mario When it came out, Super Paper Mario was somewhat controversial among Paper Mario fans, because it wasn’t a turn-based RPG like its predecessors. Instead, it was a platforming action RPG. Nevertheless, it’s still an RPG and quite an enjoyable one, with the ability to switch between 2D and 3D to overcome certain obstacles, multiple playable characters, and a surprisingly complex and in-depth story. Super Paper Mario might have been different, but it was a lot of fun and introduced some incredib... »
