Now that we’re into August, what will Nintendo bring? This is another week full of Nintendo announcements. Tune in to the Nintendo Chit Chat podcast to learn more about the latest news.

Nintendo Direct News

There was a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Direct on August 8 at 7 AM PT / 10 AM ET that revealed new characters, new stages and features, and more, along with teasing an unrevealed mode. There will also be a special edition that includes a GameCube controller and adapter.

Nintendo Switch News

Nintendo Switch Online is set for the second half of September.

New Games, Ports, & Localizations

The updated Windjammers port is coming to the Switch later this year.

An adaptation of the children’s book Storm Boy has been announced for all major platforms for late 2018.

A Dark Room is coming to the Switch later this year.

Haunted Dungeons: Hyakki Castle is coming to the Switch and PS4 on August 30 for $13.99.

Nobunaga’s Ambition: Taishi with Power-Up Kit has been revealed for the Switch, PS4, and PC.

Bloodroots has been announced for all major platforms.

Soundfall is also coming to all major platforms in 2019.

Co-op platformer Tied Together has been announced for the Switch.

Tale of the Ice Staff has been announced for the Switch for 2019.

Liar Princess and the Blind Prince will come to the west in 2019, with a limited edition also available and a new trailer out now.

Behind the Screen is coming to the Switch on August 23.

A Scribblenauts collection called Scribblenauts Mega Pack, contained Scribblenauts Ultimate and Scribblenauts Unmasked, is coming to consoles on September 18 for $29.99.

Ubisoft announced that Child of Light and Valiant Hearts: The Great War will both come to the Switch on October 11 and November 8 respectively.

A Switch version of Reverie has been announced.

The Low Road is also coming to the Switch, on August 23, with new controls and enhancements.

Arc System Works and Hidetaka “Swery” Suehiro’s upcoming action-adventure game The Missing: J.J. Macfield and the Island of Memories will be released for all major platforms in 2018.

The developers of Joggernauts have revealed a Switch version.

Like the first game, Nekopara Vol. 2 is planned for the Switch and PS4.

Super Crush KO has been announced for 2019 for the Switch and PC.

Doom Eternal has been confirmed for the Switch, alongside the official gameplay reveal.

Mobile idle game StarONE: Origins is coming to the Switch as Captain StarONE.

The developer of 10 Second Run Returns announced Obake na Fune to Takaramono.

The developer of Fairune and Kamiko announced Transiruby for 2019.

Trailers & Details

The Switch version of Steep has been cancelled.

The Asian release of Kamen Rider: Climax Scramble Zi-O will include English subtitles.

A demo is now available for Valkyria Chronicles 4. Digital pre-orders have also opened up, with a bonus side mission that will later be DLC.

Team Sonic Racing has a new trailer demonstrating its team gameplay mechanics.

The new SNK 40th Anniversary Collection trailer introduces the Ikari games.

A new Japanese trailer is out for Little Dragons Café.

The final trailer is out now for Psyvariar Delta.

A Switch Drum Set controller will be released in Europe for Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum ‘n’ Fun! 

Yo-kai Watch 4 will include multiple protagonists, a new combat system that involves the human characters, and a fourth world.

A new trailer shows many new details for Pokémon Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee! including Mega Evolution.

An overview video is available for Beyblade Burst: Battle Zero.

The first full trailer is out for Atelier Rorona DX, Atelier Totori DX, and Atelier Meruru DX.

Nintendo UK has posted a new interview about Daemon x Machina.

The next three DLC packs have been announced for BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle, along with a tease for another franchise to be added.
