June 3 – June 9: Nintendo News Bytes

It’s the week leading up to E3, and everyone is waiting to see what Nintendo will announce. In the meantime, here are this week’s announcements. Tune in to the Nintendo Chit Chat podcast to learn more about the latest news.

Nintendo Switch News

New Games, Ports, & Localizations

Marketing materials have confirmed NBA 2K19 for the Switch.

In an interview with Game Informer, the Octopath Traveler producer said their division will focus on original titles for the Switch if Octopath Traveler does well.

The Kickstarter-funded action RPG Wild Mage: Phantom Twilight will come to consoles, including the Switch.

Mushroom Wars 2 is coming to the Switch on July 5 and a trailer is available now.

FuRyu is working on a retro Switch RPG called Work x Work for September 27 in Japan, with the Mother 3 director in charge of the scenario. Its Japanese website reveals some story details.

Radio Hammer Station is coming to the Switch, PS4, and Vita in Japan.

Episode one of The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series – The Final Season will come to the Switch later this year, after the other versions. The first trailer is available now.

Freedom Planet is coming to the Switch this fall.

The arcade game Cloud Master will be remastered as Monkey King: Master of the Clouds for Switch, PS4, and PC this summer.

Paladins has been announced for the Switch for June 12 with Xbox One cross-play.

Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes is coming to consoles this summer.

Project Highrise is also come to consoles as Project Highrise – Architect’s Edition, with a new trailer here.

Flyhigh Works is bringing the rhythm game Lanota to the Switch on June 14 (North America) and other regions on June 20.

A rogue-lite hack-and-slash game called RemiLore: Lost Girl in the Lands of Lore is coming to all major platforms this winter, with an announcement trailer here.

Kemco and Water Phoenix’s visual novel Saiaku Naru Saiyaku Ningen ni Sasagu is getting a Switch version in Japan.

Sekai Project’s new “Sekai Games” is bringing games to the Switch, including four new announcements: fault (November), My Girlfriend is a Mermaid!? (February 2019), M.A.S.S. Builder (Summer 2019), and Samurai Cop: The Game.

Trailers & Details

Square Enix has released a trailer for the Dragon Quest X “All in One” Package, which will be out for the Switch (and Wii U) in Japan.

Mega Man 11 will be digital-only in the UK and Europe.

The opening movie is available for Jake Hunter Detective Story: Prism of Eyes.

The Pokémon Company clarified to Game Informer that Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee! will have limited online functions using the Switch’s online subscription.

According to Serebii, the 2019 Pokémon game will have new Pokémon and better graphics than any past Pokémon game.

In addition to its release window, a new gameplay video is available now for The Spectrum Retreat.

Titan Quest also got its first Switch gameplay footage alongside its release date.

A new trailer introduces the characters of Touhou Genso Wanderer Reloaded.

Little Dragons Cafe has introduced two new characters (a ghost and a cat idol) as well as weather changes.

My Hero One’s Justice will include a Story Mode, Villain Mode, character customization, and online battles.

The E3 2018 trailer is out for Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom.

A new trailer shows some gameplay for Planet Alpha.

Indivisible also has a new gameplay trailer.

All-Star Fruit Racing will not have online multiplayer in the Switch version.

A short Warriors Orochi 4 gameplay video is available now.

Bomberman’s ally Max is coming exclusively to the Switch version of Super Bomberman R, introduced in a new trailer.
