Happy New Year! Nintendo only saw a few announcements in this first week of 2018, but don’t take that to mean things are slowing down. The Switch has sold 4.8 million units since it launched in March, making it the fastest-selling console in U.S. history. Previously the Wii held that record.

Circle Entertainment has announced that the Mercenaries Saga trilogy is coming to the Switch as a single collection called Mercenaries Saga Chronicles. This is the first time the original Mercenaries Saga game will be available in the west. The second and third were previously released on the 3DS eShop. It is a tactical RPG series. It will be out on January 18 in Japan, but the western release date has yet to be revealed.

The action game Furi is also coming to the Switch. It will be out on January 11 and include the One More Fight DLC and the ability to speedrun Furier mode. You’ll be able to download it from the eShop for $19.99.
A Metroidvania-style action RPG was also announced for the Switch this week. Titled Feudal Alloy, it follows a fishbowl-powered robot in a 2D medieval world. Sound interesting? Check out the trailer for more details.
Birthdays the Beginning is also coming to the Switch in Japan, with the title Happy Birthdays. It will be out on March 29 and feature new improvements.
Next, the Switch version of Dragon Quest Builders will have some exclusive features. In Free Build Mode, you’ll be able to use the Great Sabrecub to attack enemies and obtain “pixels.” These pixel materials can be used at a special workstation to create terrain and other graphics from the original Dragon Quest on the NES.
