Super Mario Odyssey DLC We’d Love to See
The thought of DLC makes many fans nervous, but when it’s made properly, it can be a fantastic way to add more content to a game. Super Mario Odyssey is a huge adventure with plenty to keep players occupied, but we can’t help but imagine what Super Mario Odyssey DLC might be like. If Nintendo does make DLC, here are the things we’d love to see.
Note: There will be minor spoilers for Super Mario Odyssey kingdoms and post-game content.
Visiting the Mushroom Kingdom in Super Mario Odyssey was one of the coolest parts of the game, especially because of all the little references to Super Mario 64. It was a wonderful nostalgia trip, so just imagine if more kingdoms like that were added. Could we visit Isle Delfino as an homage to Super Mario Sunshine? What about Luigi’s Mansion, especially since we don’t have a proper spooky level? The Beanbean Kingdom? Rogueport? Locations from past Mario games would be excellent DLC kingdoms.
I’m sure I’m not the only player who nearly died of excitement upon seeing the Ruined Kingdom, only to have my hopes dashed when I saw the size of the map. While most of Super Mario Odyssey’s locations were a respectable size, a few such as the Cloud Kingdom and Ruined Kingdom were tiny. If these were expanded into full kingdoms to explore, that would be be fantastic.
Luigi is the typical go-to for a second playable character, but Super Mario Odyssey has everything set up for Princess Peach. In the post-game, she embarks on her own adventure and appears in the various kingdoms. Since she has a costume for each world and her own cap companion, DLC content that lets us play as Peach and Tiara on one of their adventures feels like a natural conclusion.
These are our top ideas for Super Mario Odyssey DLC. What sort of additional content would you want to see added to Super Mario Odyssey? Let us know in the comments.
