Getting Started With Return to PopoloCrois: A Story of Seasons Fairytale
If you read our review of Return to PopoloCrois: A Story of Season Fairytale, you know we found it to be a charming, entertaining RPG. Here are a few tips to keep in mind as you start this unexpected crossover.
Don’t Stress Over Backtracking
Early on, it might seem like the game demands a lot of backtracking, especially once you have multiple farms. Don’t let this stress you out. Near the start of Chapter 3, you’ll unlock the ability to fast travel to any previously-visited town or farm.
Pay Attention to Quest-Givers
While Return to PopoloCrois is fairly user-friendly, one aspect of side quests can cause frustration if you aren’t expecting it. NPCs with side quests are marked with an icon above their head, but once you accept the quest, they won’t be marked again. When you’re ready to collect your quest reward, you’ll need to remember the right NPC to talk to. Speaking of which, don’t forget to visit towns often to see if any new quests are available.
Quicksave Is Your Friend
You can only save your game in a regular save file at inns, but you also have a quicksave that you can use anywhere. Quicksave only has a single save slot, but it’s worth keeping in mind if you need to stop playing while in a dungeon–or if you’re right ahead of a boss fight.
Auto-Battle is Also Your Friend
If you’re traveling through an old area with weak enemies, or if you’re grinding to level up, Return to PopoloCrois has a nice feature to make battles less tedious: auto-battle. This feature can be turned on with a single button press, and your party will fight automatically. You can retake control at any time.
Return to PopoloCrois: A Story of Seasons Fairytale isn’t a complicated game to learn, but these tips should help you make the most of it.
