Top Things You Might Have Missed from Nintendo at E3
Nintendo loves surprises, and as such, they didn’t confine all of their E3 news to the Nintendo Spotlight. Instead, they saved several pieces for the Nintendo Treehouse live stream. While you’ve probably seen the biggest announcements already, Metroid: Samus Returns and Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser’s Minions coming out for the 3DS later this year, here are a few you might have missed.
Nintendo announced several new amiibo at E3. The new Breath of the Wild amiibo for Mipha, Daruk, Revali, and Urbosa were shown during the Nintendo Spotlight, but the Super Mario Odyssey amiibo were shown during Nintendo Treehouse. These three amiibo show Mario, Princess Peach, and Bowser in wedding clothes.
Two Fire Emblem Warriors amiibo are also on their way, one of Chrom and one of Tiki. Finally two Metroid amiibo will become available alongside Samus Returns. One depicts Samus in her pose from the cover of Metroid II, and the other is a Metroid–an it’s squishy!
Sushi Striker: The Way of Sushido
Puzzle fans might be interested in this small 3DS game revealed by Nintendo Treehouse. Sushi Striker: The Way of Sushido challenges you to match colored sushi plates to build stacks of plates that you can use to attack your opponent. It also features companions you can equip for special buffs or debuffs. It is being co-developed by indieszero Corporation, who previously worked on the Theatrhythm games and the Ultimate NES Remix, among others.
Finally, Nintendo Treehouse’s gameplay demonstrations are a valuable resource to any interested fan. Do you want to see more Super Mario Odyssey gameplay? Are you interested in the combat of Xenoblade Chronicles 2? Are you curious about Metroid: Samus Returns? If so, the gameplay videos from Nintendo Treehouse should answer your questions.
