No Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 for Nintendo?

No Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 for Nintendo?

In 2015, Capcom released the Mega Man Legacy Collection, a compilation of games from Mega Man up through Mega Man 6. Among other systems, it came out for the Nintendo 3DS. However, Capcom just announced a follow-up for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC only.

Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 picks up where the previous collection left off and includes Mega Man 7 through Mega Man 10. For fans who enjoyed the first collection on the 3DS, it’s disappointing to see that the second collection won’t be available for the 3DS or the Switch.

So, why is the Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 skipping Nintendo?

Possibility 1: The 3DS Game Sold Poorly

If the first Mega Man Legacy Collection saw significantly worse sales for the 3DS compared to other platforms, Capcom might have decided to skip Nintendo platforms. Initial reports suggested the 3DS version was selling well, but it’s difficult to find accurate sales data to know for sure.

Possibility 2: They’ll Announce It Later

When the Mega Man Legacy Collection came out in 2015, it was only available for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Its 3DS release came in 2016. It’s possible that the same situation is true here: an initial release for those three systems, with Nintendo versions to follow later.

Possibility 3: A Full Collection is Coming

While unlikely, it’s also possible that Capcom intends to bundle both Mega Man Legacy Collection games together for a Nintendo Switch release, and maybe even a 3DS release. If so, they would announce it at a later date.

In Conclusion

We can’t say for sure why Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 appears to be skipping Nintendo platforms entirely, but we wouldn’t lose hope just yet.

I’m hoping for a release later. It’s kinda like how Resident Evil: Revelations came on 3DS but the sequel disappointingly did not.
