Our Most-Wanted Mario Kart Characters
With each new Mario Kart game, the roster of playable characters grows. Sometimes, new additions are well-received, such as when Nintendo first announced that the Koopalings would be drivers in Mario Kart 8. Other times, new characters leave fans scratching their heads over why that character was picked (Pink Gold Peach?) over others.
With that in mind, let’s talk about some of the characters we’d love to see on the roster for the first time in future Mario Kart games.
Fawful has been my choice for a new Mario Kart character for years. With his odd mannerisms and dialogue, this Mario & Luigi villain could be quite an entertaining racer, and Mario RPGs would finally have a representative in Mario Kart.
Professor E. Gadd
Since his debut in Luigi’s Mansion, Professor E. Gadd has slowly crept through the Mario series. Super Mario Sunshine references him, he appears in the Mario & Luigi games, and there’s even evidence that he was originally planned to be a playable character in Mario Kart DS. It’s high time this eccentric scientist had a chance to join the race.
Like E. Gadd, there are signs that Kamek was planned to be a playable character in Mario Kart before, specifically in Mario Kart 64. However, he has yet to join the roster, despite being a major antagonist who appears in several games. When will Kamek get to race alongside his king? And while we’re at it, what ever happened to Kammy Koopa? Did Nintendo forget she exists?
Fawful, Professor E. Gadd, and Kamek are three of the characters we’d enjoy racing as in future Mario Kart games. Who would you like to see added to the roster?
