Major Update Planned for Monster Hunter Stories

Monster Hunter Stories, the turn-based JRPG Monster Hunter spin-off, came out in Japan last October for the 3DS and is planned for a worldwide release later this year. Capcom has announced a major update for Monster Hunter Stories this summer, which will be available to all players for free.

According to the translation by Nintendo Everything, this update will add three new Otomon (monsters): Teostra, Kushala Daora, and Rajang. It will also make it possible for players to obtain DLC Otomon from Monster Nests after completing the ending, although this won’t apply to collaboration Otomon.

Finally, it will add the ability to change the main character’s appearance and gender from the player’s house. Additional customization items will also be added to let players dress like Geenie, Hyoro and Mil from the Ride On anime.

Although Capcom hasn’t announced any localization plans for this DLC yet, it’s likely that the Western version of the game will receive this update’s new features as well. Monster Hunter Stories is a very different game than traditional entries in the Monster Hunter series, but this spin-off has won many players’ hearts. Are you looking forward to it when it launches in the West later this year?
