Localization Confirmed for Monster Hunter Stories, Yo-Kai Watch 2: Psychic Specters, and Miitopia

In addition to release dates and new game announcements, the recent Nintendo Direct also confirmed the localization of three exciting JRPGs for the 3DS.

Monster Hunter Stories

This game may be part of the Monster Hunter series, but it’s a unique spin-off that had RPG fans hoping for its localization for a long time. It is a turn-based RPG in which you raise and befriend a party of monsters. It will be available this fall.

Yo-kai Watch 2: Psychic Specters

When the first two versions of Yo-kai Watch 2 were brought West, many players wondered if the third version (Yo-kai Watch 2: Shinuchi) would follow. Now we know for sure. The third version of Yo-kai Watch 2, which includes new Yo-kai, quests, areas, and features, will be brought to North America this fall as Yo-Kai Watch 2: Psychic Specters.

Miitopia

Finally, Miitopia is a unique turn-based RPG about a group of your Miis on a journey to defeat the Dark Lord. While Miitopia is a traditional RPG in many ways, your characters’ relationships will affect their behavior. In other words, imagine the character creation and interaction of Tomodachi Life, place in an RPG with a story to complete. It will be available sometime in 2017.

For RPG fans, this is exciting news. Are you interested in playing any of these three RPGs when they come West?

Personally, I’m looking forward to all of these. I don’t know a lot about Monster Hunter Stories, but Yo-kai Watch and Miitopia both sound fun.
