Minecraft, Sine Mora EX, Battle Chasers, and More Coming to the Nintendo Switch

The recent Nintendo Direct might have focused on new information about Splatoon 2 and Arms, but that didn’t stop Nintendo from making several new Switch game announcements.

Minecraft: Nintendo Switch Edition

The popular sandbox building game Minecraft is available on just about everything, so it comes as little surprise that a Switch version is in the works… but you won’t have to wait long. Minecraft: Nintendo Switch Edition, which includes the Super Mario Mash-Up Pack, will be available on May 11.

Fate/Extella: The Umbral Star

Next, on on July 20 in Japan, July 21 in Europe, and July 25 in North America, Fate/Extella: The Umbral Star will hit the Switch. This version of the action game will include a new costume, all of the previous DLC costumes, and support for multiple languages.

Sine Mora EX

For shoot ’em up fans, Sine Mora EX is due out for the Switch this summer. This game is an extended version of the side-scrolling shoot ’em up Sine Mora and will be published by THQ Nordic.

Battle Chasers: Nightwar

THQ Nordic had an additional Switch announcement, as well. Battle Chasers: Nightwar, the upcoming turn-based RPG set in the universe of the Battle Chasers comic series, is on its way to the Switch in late summer or fall.

Namco Museum

Also available this summer will be Namco Museum, a Switch-exclusive collection of classic Namco arcade games like Pac-Man, Galaga ’88, Splatterhouse, and more. It will include online leaderboards and a special challenge mode.

Do you miss board games? Then you’re in luck, because a digital version of Monopoly with its own in-game rewards is coming to the Switch this fall. The Nintendo Switch seems like a perfect match for digital board games, so maybe other games will follow suit.

These games sound like solid additions to the Nintendo Switch lineup. Which are you looking forward to the most?

  1. seems to be a good variety of games and nice to see Minecraft launching soon.

    • I’m interested in Battle Chasers. I’m not familiar with the comic, but the game sounds interesting, especially since I love turn-based RPGs.
