Yooka-Laylee, Stardew Valley, SteamWorld Dig 2, and More Announced for Switch
Today’s “Nindies” showcase of indie games coming to the Nintendo Switch was filled with exciting news, including official news about a few big titles.
Yooka-Laylee, which was anticipated for the Switch after the Wii U version was cancelled, has been officially announced for a release sometime in 2017. Since we don’t have a release date yet, we don’t know if it will be available alongside the other versions on April 11 or not.
Team17, Yooka-Laylee’s publisher, will also bring Overcooked: Special Edition to the Switch. This version will include all the DLC released for the fast-paced co-op cooking game. Additionally, The Escapists 2 will be available on the Switch.
Yooka-Laylee has 3D platforming covered, but what about 2D? Well, SteamWorld Dig 2 is on its way! The latest SteamWorld adventure stars a steambot on a search for her missing friend, and it will be available this summer.
SteamWorld Dig 2 might be available on other platforms in the future.
And finally, the popular farming game Stardew Valley will come out for the Nintendo Switch sometime this summer. It will also be the first version of Stardew Valley to include the new multiplayer mode.
Yooka-Laylee and the other two games from Team17, SteamWorld Dig 2, and Stardew Valley are only a few of the games announced during the Nindies showcase. We’ve got more games to discuss, so stay tuned!
