Pokémon Go Valentine’s Day Event Begins!
Niantic has announced a new Pokémon Go event in honor of Valentine’s Day. This event will last from February 8, 2017 until February 15, 2017, so you have from now until the day after the holiday in question to participate.
And since this event is for Valentine’s Day, it should come as no surprise that there’s a strong focus on Candy. Candy is one of the most sought-after items in Pokémon Go, because you need it in order to evolve your Pokémon. During this event, the Candy you earn will be doubled, whether you get it from catching Pokémon, hatching Eggs, or transferring Pokémon. If you have a Buddy Pokémon gathering Candy for you, that amount of Candy will also be doubled.
The rest of the event focuses on the color pink. Pink Pokémon such as Chansey, Clefable, and Porygon will be encountered more often, and you’ll have a better chance of hatching Cleffa, Igglybuff, and Smoochum. Other pink Pokémon should also have an increased encounter rate, although Niantic didn’t specify any others by name.
Finally, Lures will last for 6 hours instead of the usual 30 minutes.
This Pokémon Go Valentine’s Day event and all of its benefits will end on February 15 at 11 AM Pacific Time. Will you be participating?
