Four New Fire Emblem Games Now In Development

Fans went into the Fire Emblem Nintendo Direct expecting news on Fire Emblem Warriors and the Fire Emblem mobile game, but Nintendo also had a few surprises in store.

Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia

Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia for the Nintendo 3DS is a reimagining of the 1992 game Fire Emblem Gaiden, which was only available in Japan. In additional to traditional Fire Emblem strategy gameplay, it also includes free-roaming gameplay and dungeons to explore.

Amiibo figures of the game’s two protagonists, Alm and Celica, will also be available together on the same day the game launches, May 19.

Fire Emblem for Nintendo Switch

The second big surprise was that a Nintendo Switch Fire Emblem game is also in development. Although they couldn’t share details on this title yet, it is planned for 2018. Many fans had worried there would never be another Fire Emblem game for a home console, so this is welcome news.

Fire Emblem Warriors

After the surprises, the Nintendo Direct moved on to Fire Emblem Warriors, the Musou game set for this fall.. In addition to an extended trailer, Nintendo also revealed that Fire Emblem Warriors will be available not only on the Switch, but on New Nintendo 3DS systems as well.

Fire Emblem Heroes

Finally, the rest of the presentation was devoted to the mobile game, titled Fire Emblem Heroes. It will include characters from across the series, whom you summon to form an army. It features streamlined tactical combat and the standard Fire Emblem weapon triangle system.

Additionally, you can vote for your favorite character to be used in Fire Emblem Heroes at the official site. Your first vote will also earn you 200 My Nintendo Platinum Points.

You can pre-register for the Android version of Fire Emblem Heroes starting on January 19. Despite some initial confusion over the release date, Nintendo has confirmed that it will become available for both Android and iOS devices on February 2.

In Conclusion

Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, Fire Emblem for the Switch, Fire Emblem Warriors, and Fire Emblem Heroes–which of these four upcoming Fire Emblem games are you most excited for?
