Nintendo has finally revealed details fans have been awaiting for ever since the announcement of their newest console: the Nintendo Switch’s price and release date.

The Nintendo Switch will launch on March 3, 2017 for $299.99. It comes in two models, one with gray Joy-Con controllers and one that comes with a Neon Red Joy-Con and a Neon Blue Joy-Con. Joy-Con controllers also have a few special features, such as a capture button to share screenshots and video, motion controls, and advanced “HD rumble” for added realism.

When you buy the Nintendo Switch, you’ll get:

  • Nintendo Switch console
  • Nintendo Switch dock
  • Left and right Joy-Con controllers
  • Joy-Con wrist straps
  • Joy-Con Grip
  • HDMI cable
  • Nintendo Switch  AC Adapter

The Nintendo Switch Pro Controller will be available separately. It is $69.99

Nintendo confirmed that the Switch has a touchscreen, and touched upon the battery life. While the battery life will vary based on the game, it should fall somewhere between 2.5 hours to 6.5 hours.

Up to eight Nintendo Switch consoles can be connected for local multiplayer. As for online multiplayer, the Switch will feature an online service that makes use of smart devices to let players invite friends to play games online, create appointments, and more. This will be free at launch, but will become a paid service later on. More details about the Switch’s online service will come later.

Finally, the Nintendo Switch will be region-free, something long-requested by fans. This means that games from any region will be playable in the Nintendo Switch.
