Upcoming 3DS Games to Look Forward to in 2017

2016 is almost at a close. While many Nintendo fans are waiting to see what the Nintendo Switch has in store, we still have some exciting 3DS releases to look forward to in 2017.

Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King

Following 2016’s release of the Dragon Quest VII remake, the 3DS remake of Dragon Quest VIII will be out in the West on January 20, 2017. Dragon Quest VIII is considered by many fans to be one of the best in the series, so this is a treat RPG fans shouldn’t miss out on.

Poochy & Yoshi’s Woolly World

If you missed out on Yoshi’s Woolly World for the Wii U or just want to play through it again with Poochy by your side (and to enjoy the new bonus content), Poochy & Yoshi’s Woolly World will be out on February 3, 2017.

Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns

The newest Story of Seasons game is due out in the first quarter of 2017, if you like farming simulation games. Remember, Story of Seasons is the series that was originally localized as Harvest Moon for a long time.

Ever Oasis

Also due out in 2017 is the cute, desert-themed RPG revealed for the 3DS at E3, Ever Oasis. We don’t know much about Ever Oasis (except that it’s adorable), but it’s being directed by Koichi Ishii, the creator of the Mana series.

Pikmin

A sidescrolling Pikmin game was announced back in September, and we’ve heard nothing about it since. Nevertheless, it also is due to hit the 3DS in 2017.

Lady Layton: The Millionaire Ariadone’s Conspiracy

When Level-5 announced that Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy would be the last game to star Professor Layton, fans wondered if a new character would take the helm for another puzzle game… and Layton’s daughter is set to begin her adventure on the 3DS sometime in 2017.

In Conclusion

There are a few more titles without confirmed translations we could speculate about, such as The Alliance Alive and Attack on Titan: Escape from Certain Death (both due out in Japan on March 30), but for now, these are among the top 3DS games we can expect to see in 2017.
