Pokémon Go Holiday Event Starts December 25

Pokémon Go Holiday Event Starts December 25

Tomorrow is Christmas, and Pokémon Go has a special holiday event lined up to help you get some new Pokémon. From December 25 until January 3, you’ll have a better chance of getting Eggs that hatch into Togepi, Pichu, and other newly-added Pokémon from the Johto region.

After your first Photo Disc spin, you’ll also be able to get a single-use Incubator each day from PokéStops.

Finally, the festive Pikachu added earlier this month will be available for the duration of this event as well. Your chances of encountering one will also be higher. This special Pikachu wears a Christmas hat, and you can evolve it into a Raichu that also wears the hat.

All of these things will last from December 25 until January 3, but there is a second holiday event, as well. Starting on December 30, the Kanto starter Pokémon (Bulbasaur, Squirtle, and Charmander) will be more commonly found, as will all their evolutions. Lure Modules will also last twice as long, 60 minutes instead of 30 minutes, to make it easier for you to encounter them. This second holiday event will last until January 8.

Will you be playing Pokémon Go during the holidays? Let us know your thoughts on these new Pokémon Go events in the comments.

  1. Glad they are continuing these events. I was just checking yesterday and was really surprised the Pokemon GO plus device is still hard to get.. so glad i was able to get one at release. It makes the game enjoyable when out and about .
