My Top 3 Games That Use Amiibo
This is a short and sweet article on Nintendo’s Amiibo and my top 3 games that utilize them.
Many fans have a love/hate relationship with Amiibo because some consider them to be glorified DLC while others don’t think they do enough. It’s a tough tightrope act that Nintendo has continued to balance since Amiibo were released in November of 2015.
Here are my top 3 games to date.
- Super Smash Brothers for Wii U and 3DS – Training your Amiibo fighter, leveling up, and seeing how they learn from you makes things interesting and fun..at least for a while. If you don’t have any friends to battle with who own Amiibo then some of the fun is probably lost.
- Splatoon – Unlocking new gear is cool.. but the better feature that Amiibo unlock are the new challenges. It basically adds a lot more content to a game that relies more on “online” play. So if you’ve finished single player and have Splatoon amiibo… be sure to unlock the challenges.
- Code Name S.T.E.A.M. – Probably the most “Toys to Life”-esque Amiibo use. Tap a Fire Emblem amiibo and use that character in game to play with on your team. If you have Marth, Ike, Robin, Lucina… and don’t have this game, pick it up immediately! It can be found on sale/reduced almost in every store and is worth your playtime.
So there you have it, my top 3 games to date using Amiibo. What are your top 3 games that utilize Amiibo and what would you like to see from Nintendo in the future regarding the software for them?
